“I am willing; be cleansed” (Mark 1:41)

The Gospel of John explains Christ before time: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God ... All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made” (John 1:1-3). The Apostle Paul explains Him, “All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist” (Colossians 1:15-17).

No wonder He could heal every sickness, cast out every demon, calm the storm and walk on water. With a Word, he instantly changed ten lepers from horrible, misshapen lumps of flesh into perfect men which no plastic surgeon could hope to accomplish in a lifetime of treatments.

But even more amazing is the supernatural transformation of a disgusting, self-serving sinner into a holy, God-serving saint. If you are such a sinner, you need to do the same thing one leper did. Go to Jesus, past the mockers and the religious hypocrites and worship Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean” (Matthew 8:2). Notice that Jesus broke the rules and touched him. This is what Christ does to everyone who trusts Him unconditionally. If you’re willing to give Him everything, He gives you everything.

Christ was made sin for us, although in Himself He knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. Oh, sinner, go to Jesus, believing in the power of His sacrifice, and feel His touch. The hand that multiplied the loaves, which held Peter above the water, which sustains the saints, that same hand will touch any  sinner who comes to Him with his whole heart, and make him clean.
