“For freedom Christ has set us free” (Galatians 5:1)
Saints have the freedom to enjoy, by faith, the promises of the Bible. God promises, “when you pass through the waters, I will be with you” (Isaiah 43:2). When you’re afraid you’re about to be swept away, know that God is walking with you, holding your hand, so you won’t slip.
God promises, “the mountains shall depart And the hills be removed, But My kindness shall not depart from you” (Isaiah 54:10). Even when natural disasters happen, know that God is with you, and will always be kind to you.
It doesn’t matter how much you sinned, you have the freedom to ask and expect a pardon. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
Christ is a treasury of grace available to saints. Whatever your need, you have the freedom to ask Christ for help. “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).
You have nothing to recommend you except Christ, but that’s a good thing. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:16–17).
Oh, what freedom is yours! Freedom from fear, freedom from loneliness, freedom from condemnation, freedom to approach the throne of grace, and at last, freedom to enter Heaven!
