“They ... weave the spider's web” (Isaiah 59:5)
Satan constantly infiltrates churches with false teachers who weave spider webs. “Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity ... They have made themselves crooked paths; Whoever takes that way shall not know peace” (Isaiah 59:7-8). Christ warned, “You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?” (Matthew 7:16). If they don’t teach “be holy in all your conduct” (1 Peter 1:15), you can be sure they are false teachers. “Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

The Apostle Paul told Timothy, their “mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole households, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain ... rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith” (Titus 1:11-13). Unfortunately, entire denominations have been taken over by Satan. The way you can determine the health of your church is 1) examine the lives of the leaders. Are they walking the walk, or just, talking the talk?  2) Examine what they teach. Do they teach the Word of God as the authority in matters of faith and practice, or do they compromise with cultural changes? 3) How do they deal with sin in the church? Do they rebuke and correct it, or just ignore it?

You are responsible to belong to Christ’s church. “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering … consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:23-25).
