“You, Lord, have made me glad through Your work” (Psalms 92:4)
Do you believe your sins are forgiven, and you’re going to Heaven? Then you should be a joyful Christian! Knowing what you know, you should live above the common trials and troubles of the world! Once you know your sins are forgiven, by comparison, there’s nothing more to worry about! No matter what happens from now on, eternal life is yours! When sickness, poverty, crosses and persecutions come, you still have reason to rejoice! Serve the One who gave His life for you. “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service” (Romans 12:1).
Show your love for Christ by doing good works for the saints. “By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren” (1 John 3:16). If the Lord shows you a needy person, help him for Christ’s sake. “Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep” (Romans 12:15). If there’s a weary brother, help him bear his cross for the sake of the Lord. Since Christ forgave your sins, forgive others freely. Since someone told you about Christ, go tell others.
Your “righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” will make you a good witness (Romans 14:11). Cheerful holiness is the most effective sermon, but the Lord must give it to you. Seek it this morning, before you go into the world. When we do the Lord's work, there’s no limit to our joy.
“The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it” (Proverbs 10:22).
