“Everlasting consolation” (2 Thessalonians 2:16)
If you’re saved, Earth is not your home. But, until you get to Heaven, you have many consolations.
Knowing God chose you and adopted you is a great comfort. “He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself” (Ephesians 1:4-5).
Knowing God will always be with you is a great comfort. “God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God” (2 Corinthians 1:3).
Knowing you’re saved is a great comfort. The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.”
Knowing freedom from guilt is a great comfort. “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit” (Romans 8:1).
Knowing God’s in control of your life is a great comfort. “We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).
Knowing Christ as your Advocate is a great comfort. “If anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 2:1-2).
Knowing you will go to Heaven is a great comfort. “God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:3-4).
