“These are the singers … they were employed in that work day and night” (1 Chronicles 9:33-34)
The singers in the Jerusalem Temple worshipped God day and night. This is what you’ll do in Heaven. You’ll “serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them” (Revelation 7:14-15). But don’t wait until then! Saints are told, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! … The Lord is at hand” (Philippians 4:4-5). Why not start a GOOD habit for once?! “Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
He deserves to be praised for what He’s done for you. He supernaturally changed your heart, gave you the indwelling Holy Spirit, and set you free to live a life without guilt (Hebrews 9:14). Right now, God has “made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:5-6). “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth” (Colossians 3:1-2). Praising God in all things and for all things, aligns with your eternal reality … you’re just practicing for the main event.
“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness” (Isaiah 61:9). “Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith - the salvation of your souls” (1 Peter 1:8-9).
It’s not safe for saints to spend too much time on social media, but the Bible tells you what is safe: “Rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is safe” (Philippians 3:1).
