“For many fell dead, because the war was God's” (1 Chronicles 5:22)
If you’re a saint, God’s war is your war ... the war for souls. Where people live after they die is infinitely more important than where they live on Earth. For every second we live on Earth, we’ll live over 10,000 years in Heaven or Hell. Christ has enlisted you in His army, and given you the task of proclaiming “the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:8).
The fight takes place without and within, with heresies and pretenders, with temptations and trials, with spiritual wickedness in high places, with Satan and his minions. You are in a war, God’s war, and since God can’t lose, you’re on the winning side. Don’t worry about the other side’s superior numbers. “The Lord will work for us. For nothing restrains the Lord from saving by many or by few” (1 Samuel 14:6). Don’t cower in fear at the lying media, and the worldly wisdom of the majority, but “whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ” (Colossians 3:23-24).
The world makes fun of us, and in some places, imprisons and kills us, but our persecution is a “light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:17-18). So, “Put on the whole armor of God” (Ephesians 6:11-18), and fight! “To him that overcometh, The strife will not be long; A crown of life shall be; This day the noise of battle, He with the King of glory The next the victor's song: Shall reign eternally”.
