“Good Teacher” (Matthew 19:16)

The young man called Christ “good teacher”, which is the understatement of all time. If you’re saved, Christ is your everything. “You are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power” (Colossians 2:10).

He IS the good God. “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in Heaven and that are on Earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist” (Colossians 1:15-17).

He chose you before creation. “He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons … according to the good pleasure of His will” (Ephesians 1:4-5).

He didn’t choose you because you were worthy. “By grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast”. (Ephesians 2:8-9).

He is worthy of your unconditional love. Your job is to “love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind” (Luke 10:27). You should try to be as good a servant to Him as He is a good Lord to you.
 
And yes, He is a Good Teacher. “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him” (John 14:21).
