“Now the records are ancient” (1 Chronicles 4:22)
If you’re a saint, you probably think you’re responsible for making a “decision for Christ” on a certain day in your past. The truth is, He wrote down your name before He created Adam and Eve. Your name was “written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:8). If that doesn't blow your mind, He’s given you a “package deal” with an “insurance policy”, without the usual exclusions for “acts of God”. On the contrary, your insurance policy is all about “acts of God”. “We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified” (Romans 8:28-30).
That last “act of God” should make you shout “glory!”. In God’s mind, YOU ARE GLORIFIED!!! It’s part of the “package deal” that has yet to be fulfilled in your limited view. In the same way He wrote your name in Heaven before you were born, He keeps a record in His mind of how He’ll glorify you in Heaven. You were made alive by God, and are now kept by God, to receive “an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time” (1 Peter 1:4-5). Why does God keep you by His power to receive the gift of Heaven? It’s all about God’s love and glory. “In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will ...to the praise of His glory” (Ephesians 1:11-12). From God’s point of view, it’s a “done deal”.
"A monument of grace, A sinner saved by blood; The streams of love I trace
Up to the Fountain, God; And in His sacred bosom see Eternal thoughts of Love to me."
