“Your love to me was wonderful” (2 Samuel 1:26)

Every Christian can testify from experience the love of Christ. When you were born again, you tasted that the Lord is gracious (1 Peter 2:3), and left behind the desires of the flesh and of the mind (Ephesians 2:3). Now the Holy Spirit keeps you from sin for the same reason the Father brought you to Christ (John 6:44)...love. 

 God’s love held back the axe when Justice said, "Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?” (Luke 13:7). His love stripped you bare and convicted you of sin. Your conscience hounded you until you were ready to receive the salvation of the Lord. You heard, “Come to Me ... and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28), and supernatural grace changed you instantly into His lover. 

 Oh Lord, when You washed away my sins, You whispered, “I have called you by your name; You are Mine” (Isaiah 43:1). You told me, “The Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me” (John 16:27). I've experienced the love of God poured out in my heart by the Holy Spirit You gave me (Romans 5:5). I’ll never forget when You revealed Yourself to me like you did to Moses on Mount Sinai, and to David, on the hills of Bethlehem. 

 Your Presence is Life. Strengthen my New Man through the Holy Spirit, so You’ll be able to increase Your influence in my heart through faith, and being rooted and grounded in Your love, I’ll be able to comprehend with all the saints Your width and length and depth and height. The desire of my heart is to experience Your love in a way that is beyond comprehension, so I can be filled with as much of You as possible (Ephesians 3:16-19). Amen.
