“I will ... give You As a covenant to the people” (Isaiah 49:8)

Jesus Christ is Himself the “package deal” made by God before the foundation of the world (1 Peter 1:20). He’s the promised inheritance of every believer. Can you appreciate what you have in Him? You probably know you were baptized into a new lifestyle, but did you know you’re actually swimming in an endless ocean of grace? 

 “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him” (Colossians 2:9-10). All that He is, all that He purchased as God and perfect man, is yours. “He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance” (Hebrews 9:15). “Inheritance” means you were freely given your salvation.

 Our Lord is God, omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent. He’s intimately aware of everything you think and feel and do and say. Everything that happens to you is either caused or allowed by Him. His power is yours to support and strengthen you, to overcome your enemies, and preserve you till He takes you home. His love is the ocean you swim in ... this is your inheritance. 

 All that He purchased as perfect man is yours. As a perfect man, the Father' accepted His sinless life and sacrificial death as payment in full for your sins. God's acceptance of Christ is your acceptance, and now the perfect love of the Father for the Son is yours. 

 "My God, I am Thine—what a comfort divine! What a blessing to know that the Savior is mine! In the heavenly Lamb thrice happy I am, And my heart it doth dance at the sound of His name."
