“And of His fullness we have all received” (1 John 1:16)
The word translated “fullness” here is the Greek word “pleroma”, which means “completely full without any room to spare”. The word is used many times in the New Testament to describe Christ as the fullness of God, fulfilling all the contractual demands of His covenant.
As 100% God plus 100% man, He bridged the infinite divide, atoning for sin by living a perfect human life and being the perfect sacrifice to restore fellowship between God and man. "He is able to save to the uttermost them that come unto God by Him; seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them".
He’s the fountain of all blessings: predestination, justification, regeneration, sanctification, perseverance and the Blessed Hope. Through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, He gives wisdom, power, comfort, guidance, righteousness, peace, joy and love.
“It pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell” (Colossians 1:19).
Oh, what fullness we receive! “A pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb” (Revelation 22:1). Come and get all you need, for this "fullness" is inexhaustible, and available in Jesus alone.
