“Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion” (Revelation 14:1)

The apostle John was allowed to see future events of what was to happen in heaven, and described what he saw. It was perfectly natural for John to recognize his Lord as “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29). In his vision, eleven times he sees Him as Christ, fourteen times he sees Him as Jesus, but twenty-seven times he sees Him as the Lamb. This should surprise no one. The sacrifice of the Lamb is at the center of everything that happens in Heaven, past, present and future. Nothing could captivate John’s attention like the One responsible for his salvation.

If you’re a saint, it’s because of the Lamb you’ll spend eternity in heaven. “God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:4).

The joy of fellowship with Christ in this morning’s devotion is nothing compared to the joy you’ll feel when you abandon yourself in adoration with the millions of saints before His throne, saying, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!" (Revelation 5:12). "Not all the harps above Can make a heavenly place, If God His residence remove, Or but conceal His face." All thou needest to make thee blessed, supremely blessed, is "to be with Christ".
