“Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord” (Zechariah 3:1)

This is a picture of you,  if you’re bought by the blood of the Lamb. You can enter the Holy of Holies at any time, and serve as a priest through Christ.

Standing before Christ is the perpetual position of every true believer. We were purchased for the purpose of continual worship and service. “Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

It’s only through Christ we’re able to serve as priests of God. “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience ” (Hebrews 10:22). If you’ve sinned, before you ask for other things, ask for forgiveness, and you’ll have a good conscience again. “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins” (1 John 1:8-9). “Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments” (1 John 3:21-22).

Approach Him with confidence, “for we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:15-16).

If you bring Him your tears, He’ll put them with the tears He once wept; if you bring Him your groans and sighs, He’ll accept them as a sacrifice, for He was broken in heart, and sighed heavily in spirit. You stand IN him, accepted in the Beloved; and your polluted works, though in themselves are useless, are received as a sweet incense.
