“To whom be glory forever. Amen” (Romans 11:36)
If Christ has saved you, the greatest desire of your heart, should be to please and glorify Him in everything you do.
He’s given your life purpose and meaning. You now know for the first time, you’re loved by God eternally, and nothing can take that away. You sought and received “righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit”, and you walk in moment-by-moment awareness of the Kingdom of God within you (Romans 15:14).
You see everything through the lens of His love. Your job or business is still important to you, but now it must conform to Christ’s standards. Whatever you do, you ‘do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ” (Colossians 3:23-24).
Christ is the reason you live. You are “of Him and through Him” and owe Him “all things”, so you consider everything you are and everything you have as His. Even your body, you think of as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is a reasonable expectation, since He purchased you to live a holy life. You no longer conform to this world, but voluntarily use your mind to learn what’s pleasing to Him (Romans 11:36, 1 Corinthians 6:20, Romans 12:1-2).
You submit to Christ unconditionally. Because you know by faith that God makes all things work together for good for you, even when bad things happen, you stay submitted to the Lordship of Christ. In fact, you know uncomfortable trials are the way He makes you more like Him, so you no longer return like a dog to the vomit when things get tough (Romans 8:28, James 1:2-4, 2 Peter 2:22).
Your worship will never end. “Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!” (Revelation 5:13).
