“Indignation has taken hold of me Because of the wicked, who forsake Your law” (Psalms 119:53)
Do you feel a holy grief when you see moral depravity? If you don’t, perhaps you’ve become defiled by the internet. You can’t do a Bible study with an online service without clickbait enticing you to look at so-and-so in a bikini. Saints are not immune from temptation, and human nature hasn’t changed since Job said, “ I have made a covenant with my eyes; Why then should I look upon a young woman?” (Job 31:1).
The Apostle John wrote, “In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God” (1 John 3:10).
People who think they’re saved who have no power over sin, need to question their salvation (2 Corinthians 13:5), because if you’re saved, you can resist temptation.
“God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able” (1 Corinthians 10:13), so if you’re not able to resist temptation, you’re probably not saved.
If God saves you, He’ll supernaturally give you a new heart and the indwelling Holy Spirit, so you’ll experience, “there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit” (Romans 8:1).
If you’re willing to submit unconditionally to the Lord Jesus Christ, God has brought you to the point you should confess your faith to a minister who teaches and lives the Word of God. It will be the beginning of a life of holiness.
“The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:11–13).
