“Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts?” (Luke 24:38)

After the crucifixion of Christ, He appeared alive to many, but fears and doubts ruled the hearts of the eleven. What seemed impossible, happened. Christ appeared in their midst and showed them the holes in His hands and feet.

Don’t doubt in the darkness what you believed in the light. When your faith is tested, run to Christ, not away from Him. “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith … Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful” (Hebrews 10:22–23).

Sometimes you’ll forget Christ is with you, but be of good cheer, “He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5), and if the worst thing comes, “Precious in the sight of the LORD Is the death of His saints” (Psalms 116:15).
Even your death will have a purpose, for “we know all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

You’re His precious possession which He guards as the apple of His eye. “Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore” (Matthew 10:29–31).

Let the thought of His love for you be a spiritual pain-killer, a quiet comfort to your woe: “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear” (Psalms 46:1–2). Believe the divine Word is whispered to you by Christ: “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid” (Mark 6:50), and “I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail” (Luke 22:32).

May the Holy Spirit quicken the Scripture as yours; accept the love of God. Say to your soul, “Christ whispers to calm me down…I can’t refuse Him; I rest in His arms with joy”.
